The Theological Conference took place in the congress hall of the Mayor’s Office in Žilina from 29th to 30th of June on the theme “The Žilina Synod“. This event was accessible to the public as well.
The lectures were given by slovak specialists on given topics: The General Bishop Mgr. Miloš Klátik, PhD., prof. ThDr. Igor Kišš and David P. Daniel, PhD., and as well by guests from abroad - Dr. theol. habil. Rudolf Keller from Germany on the topic „Slovak Church History from the Viewpoint of German Historiography“, Dr. Botond Kertész from Hungary on the topic „The Žilina Synod and its Era“.
At the end of the conference doc. Dr. Miloš Kovačka, CSc. informed the attendants about an extraordinary discovery from 2008 – precious manuscript of the laws and constitution of the Žilina Synod from 1610 that was just re-released by the Slovak National Library in Martin.
During the evening of 30th June a festive program was prepared in the premises of the City Theatre of Žilina that was attended also by the president of Slovak Republic Ivan Gašparovič and other distinguished people.
