The 11th General Assembly of the LWF Begins Today

On the 20th of July, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. a celebratory opening worship service took place in Stiftskirche in Stuttgart , Germany, and thus began the 11th General Assembly of the LWF, which continued through Tuesday, the 27th of July, 2010. The service was broadcast on the Slovak television channel, STV2, on the 25th of July 2010 at 8.50 am.
Four delegates from the ECAC in Slovakia were present at the General Assembly: the General Bishop of the ECAC in Slovakia Miloš Klátik, the Liptov – Orava Circuit Pastor (Senior) Katarína Hudáková, the secretary of the foreign department Marcela Kmeťová and a youth representative Ľubomír Bodiš.

As a reminder, seventy delegates from the member churches of the LWF in Europe met in Bratislava at the so–called Pre-assembly March 13th-17th, 2010. They talked about the topics of the 11th General Assembly and also about the candidate to the Council of the LWF for the European region. The co-organiser of this significant event was the ECAC in Slovakia.
