Post stamp commemorating the 400th Annyversary of the Synod of Zilina is the third most beautiful stam in the world

The stamp named "400th Anniversary of the Synod of Žilina" took part in the competition Grand Prix de l'exposition WIPA in Vienna and placed third. The stamp has been issued in year 2010 by Slovak Post and was designed by Dušan Kállay and Martin Činovský
The Grand Prix de l'exposition WIPA is an international competition that awards the most beautiful stamps in the world. The award ceremony will take place on 18 December 2012 and the representatives of Slovakl Post will be handed the award by members of WIFA. The ceremony will be part of the Stamp Day, which will take place in Bratislava. The stamp shows the Thurzo - altar, located in the Evangelical Church in Necpaly. The stamp has already won the first place in Slovakia in 2010. In April 2011, it took the first place at the competition Grand Prix de l'Art Philatélique Brussels in the category of the most beautifully engraved stamp of the European Union.
