Meeting with Minister of Education

Day 30 June 2015 at the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic was held meeting of General Bishop ECAC Miloš Klátik with Minister of Education of the Slovak Republic Juraj Draxler. At the meeting was also Secretary for schools and religious education at General Bishop´s Office Daniela Veselá. The content of meeting was discussing about current issues in education and information and submission of applications.
At the beginning of meeting General Bishop informed Minister about new published schoolbooks and workbooks for educating religion at schools; about numbers of students which are teach; about church schools which are established by ECAC. Bishop spoke about requirements to take into account the specifics of church schools in legislation; about possibilities to get subsidies for building extensions and increasing the capacity of kindergarten. He also spoke about problems which have some kindergartens with getting the space. General Bishop had interested about possibilities to submission of applications in integrated regional operation program and about release term in area of education.

General Bishop submitted modified organization program of Biblical olympics with request about putting contest „Biblical song“ into contests, and request about financial support on dealing with emergency situation in our schools. Bishop also informed about education in Evangelical Lutheran Theological Faculty Comenius University in Bratislava and he turned on Minister with request regarding to support theological education with its specifics.

At the end of the meeting General Bishop thanked Minister for meeting and invited Minister at the Worship, which will be held in Uhrovec (birthplace of Štúr) by occasion 200th birth anniversary of Ľudovít Štúr. General Bishop informed about preparation of ECAC regarding to 500th anniversary of Reformation. Minister wished to visit some of evangelical schools. This interest was accepted with pleasure and they agreed, that the visitations will be organized after mutual deal.
