Košice lives festival and ecumenism

In those autumn days Košice are characterized jubilee 25th year Festival Sacred art, and also remembering 20th anniversary Ecumenical community churches and Christian community in Košice.
Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in the Slovakia from the first moment significantly participated on the formation both, in currently also internationally recognized christian happening, on creation and implementation of their programs.

The founder of the ecumenical community was a former bishop of Eastern District ECAC, deceased Július Filo. In ecumenical community is for many years very active Dušan Havrila, as a moderator and as organizer, congregation pastor ECAC Košice.

„ The festival of the Sacred art is not everyday cultural activity, but is invitation to looking for this, what exceed us. It gives to our life direction and meaning ...“ wrote in his intercession in program bulletin of festival Slavomír Sabol, bishop of Eastern district ECAC. He was solemn preacher on ecumenical worship to 20th anniversary activities Ecumenical Community in hall of the historical city hall in Košice of 17th november 2014.

Evangelicals from Košice traditionally participated in the program Festival of Sacred Art. Evangelical Church in Košice was the place where was the concert childrens and youth sacred churches. In this programme also performed Chorus Comenianus - Evangelical High school J.A.Komenský in Košice.

One of the top events of sacred days in an ecumenical spirit was ecumenical concert in the Roman Catholic church of St. Gorazd on Sunday 16th November. This concert reminded 20th anniversary of Ecumenical Community.
