Installation of Archbishop in Finland

The installation ceremony of the new Archbishop of the Evangelical Church of Finland, Kari Mäkinen, has taken place in the Cathedral of Turku (Finland) on the 6th of June 2010. The General Bishop Of ECAC in Slovakia Miloš Klátik has attended this festivity with greetings for the newly installed bishop.
Kari Mäkinen has been elected in the 11th March 2010 by 593 votes. He will be a successor of Jukka Paarma who was in the office since 1st of December 1998. Before becoming an archbishop, Kari Mäkinen worked as an assistant to the professor of church history and researcher at the University of Helsinki. The Archbishop Mäkinen is the 54th successor of Saint Henry, the first bishop of Turku, and will be the 14th Archbishop of Turku and Finland.
