In Honor of J.M. Hurban

On the weekend 16th and 17th of June in Hlboke, people gathered to celebrate 195th anniversary of J.M. Hurban’s birth.
People dressed in traditional clothing from the times of King Bel the IV. went out into the streets to celebrate this day. This occasion was also used to consecrate the new coat of arms of Hlboke, which was carried out by senior Juraj Sefcik and local pastor Anna Durcova. Sunday was dedicated solely to J.M. Hurban. General Bishop of ECAC in Slovakia, Milos Klatik gave a sermon to the attendants of the Sunday service. The service was attended by state representatives as well, who along with others moved to the memorial of J.M. Hurban where the national anthemn has been sung.
