Consecration of Pipe Organ in Michalovce

Consecration of Pipe Organ in Michalovce

On the third Sunday before the end of the Church year, the inhabitants of Michalovce commemorated 2nd anniversary of consecration of their church. The congregation also rejoiced as they have consecrated their new pipe organ on this occasion. After the service brother General Bishop planted the 15th tree of reformation.
In his sermon brother General Bishop emphasized God's amazing blessing - that people can listen to the word of the Lord in this church: "This day and this service provide us with a good opportunity to thank our Lord, who guided us and blessed us both in joy and sorrow." Instead of trying to attain material riches that rule the world, we should strive to gain spiritual riches through God’s Word and sacraments. For the spiritual riches have permanent value and that is why we should strive to achieve this. Because "who binds their heart to the material things, will become utterly inadequate for the kingdom of God. This would naturally be tragic for man." General Bishop reminded the congregation that Martin Luther developed teaching about general priesthood: „This means that no one - from us, Christians, is cleared of duty to live responsibly according to the life of Jesus Christ. To live a life of faith, love and hope and acknowledge our God by words and our way of life. To be pastors in our families, lead and bring up our children, be active and use gifts we have received from our God for the good of our neighbors, for our brothers and sisters in Christ and for the life of the congregation. This means we have to deny ourselves and be willing to carry the cross. “
