Commemoration of 17th November

In the eve Struggle for Freedom and Democracy Day (17th November) by occasion 25th anniversary Velvet revolution was held solemn commemoration. General bishop Miloš Klátik was invited.
On this solemn occasion in historical building Slovak National Theater were attended presidents from Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Germany an Ukraine, and also politicians, students and direct actors the November of 1989.

With a solemn speech spoke president Slovak Republic Andrej Kiska. He marked 17th November as a outstanding feast in history of our country, which reminding us: „what power and strength has a freedom, truth, hope, dignity, justice, decency“. He stressed, that for 25 years Slovakia reached a things, which we couldn´t imagine 25 years before. „We take part 500-million united free Europe and we carry a full co-responsibility for it,“ said president. Part of the program was montage of videos and songs, which sounded in 17th November 25 years before.
