Bishop Miloš Klátik greets King Harald V.

General Bishop Miloš Klátik accepted the invitation of the President of the Slovak Republic, Ivan Gašparovič, to participate in a reception on October 26, 2010, honoring the King of Norway, Harald V. and his wife Sonja, who made their first official visit to the Slovak Republic.
The visit took place during the year honoring the 100th anniversary of the death of the great Norwegian writer Björnsterne Björnson, who stood by the rights of small nations. Björnson’s work on behalf of small nations was important for Slovaks, who were at that time a part of Hungary. The society of Martin Rázus, in cooperation with the ECAC in Slovakia, dedicated the conference „Glory to noble“ to Björnsterne Björnson.

King Harald V. is the head of the Norwegian Evangelical – Lutheran church, the state church to which 81,7 % of the population belongs. 1 % of the Norwegian population belongs to the Catholic church.
