135th anniversary of M.R.Štefánik´s birth

Church congregation of ECAC Košariská – Priepastné in cooperation with village Košariská and others co-organisers remembered 135th anniversary of birth, native of Košariská, gen. Dr. Milan Rastislav Štefánik, in days 25 and 26 July 2015.
Representatives of President Office, Armed Forces of Slovak Republic, Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Slovakia, local self-government, delegation from French city of Paulham laid wreath at the birthplace of Štefánik. Bishop of Western District - Milan Krivda greeted gathering. In his speech he used Štefánik quote: „Let each of us is better today than he was yesterday, and our homeland will be great and glorious“. Štefánik thought on this to person was human being – loving of Jesus Christ and loving your neighbours, honest, solidar, willing to help, supporting good thing, sharing good experiences, helping in unexpected accident, makes good deeds.

The event followed in evangelical church by a lecture delivered by Eva Kralikova, the co-author of the exhibition dedicated to the politician, and Stefanik's grandniece Tamara Dudasova, who shared family memories surrounding Štefánik.

Remembrance of 135th anniversary of Štefánik birth was rounded off by a celebratory Lutheran church service on Sunday morning in the village of Kosariska, where the renown statesman, diplomat, aviator and astronomer was born on July 21, 1880. Doc. Ľubomír Batka, Dr.teol. served sermon on the text from Micah 4:1-5. During the service sang local congregation choir. Chairmanship of the Church congregation thanked all participants who attended at the event. We want to thanked God, that he gave our nation such a significant person – Milan Rastislav Štefánik.
