We Continue with Energy Management

From November 11 – 13, 2010, an energy management training session was held at the General Bishop´s Office of the Western and Eastern District in Prešov and Zvolen. The training was led by Eberhard Müller from the Partnership Church in Württemberg, whom General Bishop Miloš Klátik had invited to visit the General Bishop´s Office on November 9, 2010. A representative of the environmental institute of Andrej Vilin was also present at the training and he offered continuing cooperation with our Church.

Celebrations of reformation in Bardejov were dedicated to L. Stöckel

On the Reformation day, the 31st of October 2010 a Sunday service was held at the St. Cyril and Method church in Bardejov. At the same time, the service was culmination of church-wide celebrations under the Year of Leonard Stöckel.

ECAC congregation in Bardejov published a book by doc. Andrej Hajduk in honor of the reformer, pedagogue, theologist, and humanist Leonard Stöckel (1510-1560) under the title „Leonard Stöckel. Život a dielo“(Leonard Stöckel. Life and Work).

General Bishop Miloš Klátik accepted the invitation of the President of the Slovak Republic, Ivan Gašparovič, to participate in a reception on October 26, 2010, honoring the King of Norway, Harald V. and his wife Sonja, who made their first official visit to the Slovak Republic.

ECAC in Slovakia Has a Tree in Luther’s Garden in Wittenberg

General Bishop Miloš Klátik as the 51st representative of the churches from the whole world has planted the tree Gleditsia Triacanthos in Luther’s Garden with number 150. It is a project called "500 years of reformation - 500 trees in Wittenberg".

A Conference about Christian – Jewish Relations

From the 10th to the 13th of June, 2010, the annual conference of the The European Lutheran Commission on the Church and the Jewish People (Lutherische Europäische Komission Kirche und Judentum, LEKKJ) took place in Budapest. Professor Juraj Bándy represented the Evangelical Church of the A.C. in Slovakia at the conference.
